ASLA’s 2009 Landscape Architecture Meeting accrues record registrant numbers

THE AMERICAN Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) has announced a record number of registrants for its Landscape Architecture Meeting held from 18 to 21 September in Chicago.

ASLA says its research has found the top two reasons attendees register are the education session topics and the speakers.

According to ASLA, the number of registrants for its 2009 event currently sits one-third higher than the same number of weeks in 2008 and well ahead the 2007 meeting which was accounted as the largest gathering of landscape architecture professionals in the Society’s 110 year history. The 2007 meeting amassed nearly 7,000 attendees.

The 2009 Chicago event titled ‘Beyond Sustainability: Regenerating Places and People,’ will offer more than 125 education sessions featuring a faculty of more than 250 leading experts from across the country and around the world.
