VICTORIAN Minister for Water, Tim Holding says water restrictions are being eased from Stage 4 to Stage 1 for over 40 Grampians and Wimmera towns.
According to the Minister, the announcement by Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water specified Horsham, Stawell, Ararat and a number of surrounding towns will have water restrictions reduced, restrictions which have been in place since October 2006.
The Minister says the easing of water restrictions means households will now be able to water their gardens, which they haven’t been able to do for a long time. Most of these towns have been on water restrictions for a decade and this will provide some much needed relief and flexibility about how people can use water.
