QUEENSLAND Premier, Anna Bligh says the State’s ‘Wet Week’ exemption had minimal impact on consumption figures in South East Queensland (SEQ) areas, well under Target 200 restrictions.

According to the Premier, the Queensland Water Commission (QWC) reported the average daily consumption in Central South East Queensland was just 172L, well under the Target 200.

QWC spokesman, Gerald Tooth says gardens suffered in September with Brisbane receiving half the average rainfall for September, traditionally the driest month of the year.

The Premier says Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Redlands and Scenic Rim will all join the rest of South East Queensland under regionally consistent Permanent Water Conservation Measures from 1 December 2009.
