Felcotronics equipment qualifies for tax break

GARDENING tool manufacturer Felcotronics says purchases of its equipment can be tax deductable under the Federal Investment Allowance Bill.

Small businesses and individuals carrying a business activity with a turnover of less than $2m receive a 50% deduction and 30% for larger businesses.

According to Felcotronics, the actual price subsidy of up to 25% for individuals, 15% for small companies, and up to 9% for larger businesses.

Felcotronics says any business or person exercising a business activity can claim via orders placed before December 31 2009 for small businesses, and before June 30 2009 for larger businesses.

The allowance can only be claimed in the financial year the equipment was put to use, so a delivery before June 30 is required to claim the allowance in the 2008 to 2009 financial year.
