Heggies appoints new principal of environmental services

Heggies has appointed Shane Clouston as principal - environmental services in its Brisbane office.

Clouston joined Heggies from the Queensland Department of Environment and Resource Management.

He is an environmental Scientist with over 16 years of environmental, engineering and management experience and has extensive environmental health and safety auditing experience.

Clouston’s practical experience with remedial technologies includes off-site disposal, on-site secure containment, chemical neutralisation, bioremediation, and phyto-remediation covering a wide range of contaminants including hydrocarbons, heavy metals, industrial-strength acids, asbestos and PCBs.

He is currently involved in reviewing investigations of heavy metal impacts on soil used to develop Queensland’s draft guidelines for bio-solid reuse and on the impacts of mining in north west Queensland.
