WA Minister for Agriculture, Terry Redman says a new online resource has been launched to help protect the State from serious pests, diseases and weeds.
According to the Minister, the ‘Common Regional Pests of Western Australia’ internet resource includes more than 40 of the State’s most common harmful pests, diseases and weeds.
The Minister says vigilance against pests, diseases and weeds is not the exclusive domain of farmers. Rather it is something the whole community can contribute towards.
Redman says the new resource will help people know which pests, weeds and diseases are already common in the regions, and to distinguish them from new or unusual biosecurity threats.
