QUEENSLAND Minister for Local Government, Desley Boyle says a key erosion control project at Noosa will receive $161,850 in funding from the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.
According to the Minister, the funding is part of a $20.6m state-wide allocation for the completed Environmental Infrastructure Program, in which the state Government over the next two years will roll out approved grants over and above the promised $700m.
The Minister says the funding for the erosion control project will be used for the construction of a rock protection wall and geo-textile groynes to protect the Noosa Spit from further erosion.
Boyle says the landscape development project will also help regenerate and stabilise the beach itself.
