TheGardenGeek.com launched leading up to US National Community Gardening Week

US Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack says the TheGardenGeek.com website has been launched right before the US National Community Gardening Week.

TheGardenGeek.com is a new free online community for people passionate about gardening, it is designed to help connect green thumbs nationwide and provide a space to share experiences with planting and growing.

The sites launch is a lead up to the US Gardening Week from 23 to 29 August, which will encourage Americans to connect with the land, the food it grows and their local communities.

Founder of the site, Patrick Albin says ten million people in the US took up gardening in the past year, a sign that more and more people are taking gardening seriously, be it flowers or vegetables.
