VICTORIAN farm gate and fence manufacturer, Red Hill Country Gates, has commissioned the first new Toyota 5-Series 5SDK Huski skid steer loader.
The company specialises in hardwood doors, gates and post-and-rail fences with installation on the Mornington Peninsula.
Company Director Greg Laing commissioned the new Toyota Huski 5SDK5 SSL at the beginning of February 2009.
The skid steer loader has a Digga auger attachment to speed the installation of fences and gates.
Greg Laing said the new machine had already increased installation efficiency, due to the Huski's increased hydraulic capability compared with the company’s previous machine.
‘We use the new Toyota to bore the holes and lift the posts into place as well as reform the driveways,’ Laing says.
‘The increased hydraulic flow drives the auger more powerfully than the previous machine. I also prefer the cabin space on the Huski - I don't knock my elbows as I did with our previous machine. It's more comfortable to operate for extended periods.’
Greg Laing chose the 5SDK5 size based on its weight and performance.
‘We tow the machine on a trailer, so the weight specification was important.’
As well as being a new machine, Greg Laing's Huski has been customised with a set of chrome wheels which Greg won at the recent Australian Construction Equipment Expo.
Toyota says the new Huski 5SDK5 has better performance, appearance and useability compared with its predecessor, the popular 4SDK5. New features include the introduction of an electronic display control panel.
Red Hill Country Gates was founded in 1997. It manufactures old-fashioned doors, gates and fencing from quality Australian hardwood timbers. The company also manufactures steel gates and all its own heavy-duty fittings for both gates and doors.
