Husqvarna has launched a new robotic lawnmower, the Automower 260 ACX, for homeowners with large lawns up to 6,000m2.
According to Husqvarna, homeowners with lawns sized 6,000m2 spend approximately 120 hours every year mowing their lawns, which is equivalent to a three weeks holiday.
Husqvarna says owners can now save their holiday time, with the Automower 260 ACX. The machine cuts and fertilises the lawn day or night, rain or shine, without producing any emissions. If the mower gets disturbed, it sends a text message (SMS) to the owner's cell phone.
Stefan Axelsson, business manager for Husqvarna Robotic Lawnmowers, says the Automower is a dream machine for anyone with a large lawn and a busy life.
‘The embedded SMS-service makes the lawn beautiful and 99 percent carefree,’ he says.
According to the manufacturer, the Automower cuts the grass at the height of your choice, fertilizes the lawn naturally using the cut-offs from the grass and studies have shown that it scares off moles, Spanish slugs and other lawn predators if users allow it to work at night.
The Automower 260 ACX is battery driven and recharges itself through an electrically powered charging station. Husqvarna says it does not produce any harmful exhaust emissions and consumes little energy.
The electric mower can function for 60 minutes of cutting time, after which it returns to the charging station by itself to recharge for 40 minutes before setting out to cut again.
With a small almost invisible wire staked into the ground, the mower stays within a pre-determined area. Husqvarna says hilly areas and obstacles in the garden are not a problem. The machine manages gradients of up to 35 percent and built-in sensors using ultrasonic technology help the mower avoid tough collisions.
The Automower is fitted with an alarm to protect against theft and needs to be activated by a personal four digit code to deter unauthorised users.
The mower blades are lightweight and out of reach and stop as soon as the machine is lifted from the ground.
