HUSQVARNA says this August its Automower, the world's first robotic lawn mower, counts 100,000 units sold since 1995.

According to Husqvarna, the market for domestic robots is accelerating and reaching the level of 100,000 units sold is a milestone for innovative gardening equipment and truly user-friendly domestic robots.

Automower is now sold in 30 countries, including Australia and is a fully automatic and silent robotic lawn mower for homeowners.

Husqvarna says its robotic lawn mower can manage lawns up to 6,000 square meters. The programmable mower is battery driven and recharges itself through solar cell panels or an electrically powered charging station.

An almost invisible wire is said to be staked into the ground, ensuring the mower stays within a pre-determined area throughout the entire season.
