Living Cubes vertical plants can add a fresh new dimension to urban spaces.

Living Cubes are small-scale vertical gardens that are integrated into pieces of outdoor furniture such as side tables, bar tables and sideboards, designed by a bespoke joiner.

Each vertical garden is established by Up She Grows in a specially formulated green wall module that is lightweight, porous and has good water retention.

Finally, they are integrated into the furniture before being delivered across Sydney.

Up She Grows recommends a selection of plants that are particularly well suited to vertical gardens and that can be chosen according to aspect.

Plants include the shade-loving lush green carpet of baby’s tears to the drought-tolerant sedum or flowers en masse or an edible garden. Combination grown-to-order planting modules include Eat Your Greens, The Italian Garden, Floral and Zen.

Living Cubes are made to order in a variety of timbers including Jarrah, Teak, New Guinea Rosewood and Australian White Beech.

Living Cubes will be exhibited at designEX 2010.
