THE NEUTON Battery-Powered Lawn Mower has received the 2009 Organic Gardening magazine Editors' Choice Award.

The prize is the most prestigious award in the gardening industry, given annually to products in recognition of their outstanding innovation in design, materials and performance.

The Neutron Battery-Powered Lawn Mower was one of eight products to receive the Editors' Choice Award.

The battery-powered lawn mower was redesigned in 2008 and is now available in 14 in. cut and 19 in. wide-cut models.

Neutron says its lawn mower can be charged on less than 10c worth of electricity and is the quietest lawn mower available.

The 19 in. wide-cut Neutron is said to be able to cut up to one third of an acre on a single charge; the 14 in. model up to one quarter of an acre before needing to be charged.

Both models start with the push of a button and feature and easy-to-use drop-in battery that can be charged inside or outside the mower.

Organic Gardening magazine says it awarded the Neutron Battery-Powered Lawn Mower the Editors' Choice Award because it is suited to organic gardeners, who are very conscious of their consumption and demand high-quality tools that are useful, versatile and durable.
