NURSERY & Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) has released an online questionnaire following part one of its national invasive plants survey, and requests Industry participation.

According to NGIA, the questionnaire will be used to gauge how familiar Industry businesses are with invasive plant issues. In response to part one of the surveys it received 350 production/availability lists from nurseries across Australia.

NGIA says participating nurseries focusing on the future of invasive plant management removed plants deemed invasive or potentially invasive from their lists.

The 10min online questionnaire open to all retail and production nurseries across Australia covers invasive plants, including awareness, resources, extension and management.

The final report will be released in December 2009. Business details are confidential and will not be disclosed. The questionnaire is said to provide NGIA with important and relevant data which will help establish the level of awareness growers and retailers have regarding the plants they sell.
